About Me

My name is Ciara Roslyn-James. I write about a lot of things but mostly on the subjects of love, loss and lament with a dash and sprinkle of Jesus. My work isn’t only for the Christian or faith-adjacent. I speak from spaces and places where no matter what you believe, you can at least relate. I also curse a lot. As I say all the time: Jesus cursed a fig tree. I’m cool.

I’ve been doing this for a minute and a half; wading aimlessly in the sports journalism space until life happened. I lost my Dad to paralysis and kidney failure in 2012. It completely rerouted my life until I found a new one with Jesus in 2017. I was baptized in a pond, Lake Minnetonka-style but with clothes on. In this past decade, I’ve learned the true meanings of love, loss and lament plus the power in being carefully transparent about it all. The Bible is full of people crying out to God. This blog is my chapter and verse and I’m choosing to let you all in. I’m beyond honored that you’re here to read what I have to say.

Outside of this writing s*it, I still stay in-tune with the sports world. I am also extremely passionate about all things pertaining to sexual assault awareness and anti-sexual violence advocacy. I hope to start a ministry for women like me, those of us that the church — big ‘C’ and little — dragged into the temple until Jesus set us free.

Please reach out via my Contact page if you want to kick knowledge with me. I’m open ears.

Peace and love,
